Rainy Day Weddings at our Austin Wedding Venue

As an Austin wedding venue, we are all about outdoor weddings on our 53 acres of rolling hills, green flowy vineyards, Texas grand live oaks, and colorful spring wildflower fields.  As much as we love this, we know that an outdoor ceremony and reception isn’t always ideal when the weather decides it wants to be the opposite of sunny and 75 degrees.  Also, as fall and winter are rapidly approaching, this starts to become more of a concern for our Austin brides!

Luckily for our sweet couples, we think ahead and we now have the solution to your rainy day concerns.  As of this year, we have added an outdoor reception tent to our Austin wedding venue. We no longer fear the rain!  We welcome it.

All of our tables and chairs set up flawlessly under our tent.  We make sure to leave the perfect amount of space for your band along with a dance floor big enough for you to dance the night away with your closest friends and family.

Nothing provides the sweetest first dance moments like an intimate reception under the tent.  With our string lights and chandeliers strewn from the tops of the tent, it acts just like a night under the stars.  One of our favorite parts of the night is watching those first dance moments under the tent.  When you and your new husband dance together for the first time since being named husband and wife, acting like no one else is around even though no one can take their eyes off of you!

As an outdoor Austin wedding venue, we thought having a tent was absolutely necessary so that our couples never have to worry.  We (and our tent) have you covered, no matter what the weather will bring on your wedding day!

2018 Fall Wedding Trends

In all industries, trends come and go, but where would we be without them?  The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge is here to help you figure out what 2018 fall wedding trends you should incorporate into your wedding this year!

2018 fall wedding color schemes

Color Schemes

Fall is all about deeper and moodier colors like marsala, navy, and green.  We don’t think that will ever go out of style!  Throwing in a few lighter colors or metals, like copper or gold, adds a gorgeous touch of contrast to the entire color scheme.

We are still loving the wild bouquet look.  We always will!  To make your bouquet stand out, add contrast and don’t forget about texture!  To add texture, look for florals and greenery that balance each other out.  Pair small petals with big petals.  Smooth texture with rigid texture.  Typical flowers with flowers or accents you wouldn’t normally see in a bouquet.  Click here to find out how to add interest to your wedding flowers.

Ceremony decor

Simple and modern is always a go-to (like this copper-piped arch with florals below), but geometrically-shaped arches are also having a moment!  Line your arch and aisle with your chosen florals and you’re good to go.

Reception decor

Light it up!  String lights are an added touch for all weddings, but they are especially perfect for fall, as they add a cozy ambiance to your reception.  Add string lights to the trees around your venue, like our grand live oaks all around The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge.  Stream lights from the tops of trees, your reception tent, or even have a little collection of fairy lights placed around the reception space.

We think the key to phenomenal wedding decor is to go with trends that are variations of something classic.  That way, it never truly goes out of style.  For more fall wedding ideas, visit us on Pinterest!

From your parents arriving an hour late to the beautiful ceremony you planned at your Austin wedding venue, to your cake leaning over from all of the Texas summer heat, wedding days are stressful!  Read on for 5 surefire ways to reduce wedding day stress to make you prepared for anything life throws at you.

Pamper yourself for a pre-wedding day stress reliever

Pamper yourself the night before your wedding

First, reserve a little R&R for the night before your wedding!  Spend quality time with your bridesmaids, slip into comfy clothes, and put on a face mask.  Also, take a warm bath before bed and throw in a bath bomb for an extra wedding day stress reliever. Latika bath bombs are made right here in Austin and are wonderful for pre-wedding pampering!

Get your beauty rest

When you don’t give yourself the sleep you need, you feel foggy, are forgetful, and have higher chances of getting sick.  Forget being able to handle stressful situations!  Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before your wedding so you can start off on the right foot.

Reduce wedding day stress and shorten your commute

Do you want to plan your wedding day to a T?  Keep in mind, it takes anywhere from 35 minutes to 2 hours to get across Austin.  Therefore, beat the stress and shorten the commute to your ceremony that way traffic won’t be an issue.  Even better, find a venue that provides lodging.  At The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge, we have two spaces for accommodation. The Lodge and The Cabin each hold up to 14 guests, totaling 28 of your closest family and friends.  Avoid wedding day stress and get ready first thing in the morning without having to fight traffic.

Put on a great playlist

It’s been proven that music can affect your mood.  Music with a slower tempo helps you relax, whereas more upbeat music helps you stay optimistic.  Creating a playlist before your wedding day is a great idea to get you in a happy mood!  Include songs your bridesmaids love too, so you all can do some pre-wedding happy singing and dancing!

Don’t do it alone

Lastly, a common wedding day stress is due to things not going according to plan.  Eliminate the stress and hire a day-of-event coordinator to help your day run as smoothly as possible. At The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge, we have our own in-house event coordinator to help with anything you need on your wedding day!
